Jose Pedro Bernardes aboard Maliburetto delivered the fastest clear round in 52.42 seconds and took the win in International CSI 1* 130 cm presented by Ticketmaster. The Portuguese Finnish duo left a clear margin to the second placed Isabel Olsson on Genereux Fortuna from Finland. The last spot in the top three went to another home rider as Vilma Lappalainen and Knokke HX followed not too far behind Olsson.
“This is my sixth time in Helsinki but the first time I do an international event here. The arena is awesome; there’s a lot more space. I like it a lot. My horse was also awesome, he did everything. This is the level we have been jumping with him so it’s what I expected, nice and easy. I will jump the 130 tomorrow and then my other horse should jump in the 140 if everything is OK”, Bernardes said after the competition.
