The young Swiss enjoys the crowd in Helsinki and feels at home in the small arena.

“Arenas like this are normal for me so I’m used to the smaller space. It suits me really well and I have a feeling that today my horses really liked jumping here”, Balsiger said about the Helsinki arena.

Tomorrow he will ride in two classes with two other horses and on Sunday’s World Cup Balsiger will be back on the course with Dubai du Bois Pinchet who showed to be in a really good shape in today’s 145cm.

The evening was successful for home riders as well when both Eveliina Talvio and Susanna Granroth placed the top four. Talvio and her mare Glamour did a great round in 52.59 seconds, following not too far behind the winner while Granroth aboard KG Corazon’s performance earned them the fourth place.

“I’m very happy with all my horses today and actually a bit surprised by how good they felt already on this first day. They were all with me on the course, riding felt easy and we worked well together. This is my first time in Helsinki since 2018 and I’m happy to be back”, Talvio commented after the competition.
