Sandra Dahlin and Ichi continued Sweden’s great day and took the win in LähiTapiola Grand Prix Dressage in Helsinki on Friday afternoon. The win was Dahlin’s first on the GP level and she was naturally happy with their result 71.522%. The judges were especially impressed by the pair’s piaffe and passage.

I think our performance today was good even though we did a few small mistakes. The horse was convalescent this summer so I have been taking it slowly with her. Now we get to enjoy the results of the hard work, Dahlin, who is coached by Finnish Kyra Kyrklund and her husband Richard White, commented after the competition.

Kyra is going to be here tomorrow. It’s great to have some help with my preparations and training.

Dina Ellermann and Donna Anna from Estonia placed second and the third place went to Charlotte Haid Bondergaard on Roberto Des Frettes.

Anna von Wendt and experienced Denzel made some crucial mistakes for example in changes, which lowered their points notably. With their result 63.674 von Wendt and Denzel shared the fourth place.

The feeling I had during our performance was better than the actual result. But, such is sport sometimes, von Wendt said after the competition.
