Sunday afternoon’s Yliopistollinen Eläinsairaala International Final 145 cm was a really tight competition against the clock but at the end the win went to Switzerland when Pius Schwizer on Balou Rubin R managed to make the fastest clear round in time 47.14. The battle for the second place was, if possible, even tighter and only a few hundredths separated the second placed Belgian Francois Jr Mathy on Casanova de L’ Herse and Marlon Modolo Zanotelli on Koddac van het Indihof from Brazil.
Today was definitely better than yesterday, the horse was good and jumped really well. Yesterday on the Grand Prix we didn’t get a good round so I wanted to give him a chance to get his confidence back, Mathy commented after the competition.
I’m riding Uno de la Roque in the World Cup and I’m really looking forward to it. Last year and the year before that I rode with him in the World Cup here in Helsinki and we placed so I hope to do the same this year, Mathy shared his thoughts regarding the World Cup.
Balou is a winner, he is fast and very careful and these kind of speed classes really suit him well. In the World Cup I’m riding with Cortney Cox and we are aiming to win. Helsinki Horse Show is really a five star event and it’s always worth coming here but only if the horses are excellent, ordinary isn’t enough”, Schwizer said after the competition.
