The Amateur Tour is a competition series aimed at amateur riders. The final is held at Finland’s most exciting show, the Helsinki International Horse Show. The Amateur Tour will now be organized in a renewed and more rewarding way for participating riders at next spring’s Helsinki Horse Show and at a new location, Helsinki Fair Centre.

The Amateur Tour will still have three categories, 80, 95 and 105 cm. To qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held in February 2026 at Ypäjä Equine College, the rider and horse or pony must jump at least three clear jumps at the chosen category. Registration for the series started at the beginning of May and will continue until the semi-finals.

“Competitors now have more shows to seek qualifying results from. The bonus classes, that open up a direct place in the final, will be held at Solbacka Summer Games on 16-20 July and at Ypäjä Horse Show on 17-19 October,” says Valtteri Gundersby, CEO of Horse Show.

In addition, the number of participants in the final classes has been balanced to match the number of entries in the series. Traditionally, the 80 cm level has had the most participants, so a larger number of horses will compete at this level in the final at the Fair Centre. And correspondingly, the number of final places at the 105 cm level will be reduced from the previous 20 horses to match the number of participants. “This way, the valuable and sought-after final places will be distributed more evenly among all horses.”

At Helsinki Horse Show, the classes will be held on Thursday and Friday at convenient times, so that one doesn’t have to leave the venue in the middle of the night. According to Gundersby, the finals of all the series, the top ten, will compete at the best time on Sunday.

For the first time, the Fair Centre will have two event arenas, which will allow for more classes, shows, sport presentations and interesting clinics than before. The Horse Show will be held over four days from 26 February to 1 March at the Helsinki Fair Centre. The event days will start at around 10 am and end at around 10 pm in the evening, except on Sunday, when the show will culminate in the afternoon with the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™.

The new program of the event, and more information about the new features offered by the Helsinki Fair Centre, will be published in early June. Ticket sales for the best seats will start in mid August!
