With only 50 days more to go, 5 star Helsinki International Horse Show gallops towards the biggest annual indoor sports event in Finland on October 18-22. We asked Tom Gordin, Event Director of the Helsinki Show “3 shorties”
How are the preparations running?
We had an interesting but hectic year, after the all-time record Horse Show in 2022. All is back to normal after the horrible pandemic years with two cancellations. We are very confident we are able to present a great 37th Edition of Helsinki Horse Show with the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™.
What is the interest from the international top riders?
It´s great! We are extremely pleased to have already now received the confirmation from two absolute top riders – Henrik von Eckermann and Martin Fuchs. Von Eckermann is the current nr 1 since 13 months, and a multiple Championship Gold Medalist. Fuchs, currently nr 4 on the world ranking, is a strong runner-up to Henrik, with an astonishing track record of success in the big Championships. There are more to come within some days. On September 28th we will launch all Helsinki participants, top riders and in total 50 international riders and 12 dressage riders.
Tell us in a few words what are the expectations for the up-coming Helsinki event?
A huge enthusiastic crowd of 50 000 fans. Ultimate international top sport with the best riders and horses in thrilling jump-offs. Great emotions and experiences – a unique mix of top sport and entertainment. Horses, horses, horses…..
CSI5*-W Helsinki Horse Show is organised on October 18 – 22 in the Helsinki Ice Hall.
The highlight of the event is the Sunday Longines FEI World Cup™ with 230 000 € in prize money and valuable World Cup points.
