Julien Anquetin and Fulldollar de Raygade started the French celebrations in Helsinki on Sunday morning when they topped International Medium Tour 145 cm Final Presented by WHG Equine Performance. The duo stole the show with a fast and dominant round, beating the second placed Nathan Budd of Belgium and Jando des Rosiers by more than two seconds. Team World Champion from Herning 2022, Sweden’s Jens Fredricson on Kiara took the last spot in the top three.

Anquetin, who scored hattrick in Helsinki last year, was happy with his win and praised especially his horse, which he has only ridden for two weeks.

“I feel for sure good because I won (laughs). The course was nice and I’m very proud of my horse. She is a new horse for me, and I’ve ridden her for two weeks. She has done just one show before, so this is my second who together with her.”

Ahead of the afternoon’s World Cup, the French is feeling hopeful.

“I’m gonna ride the World Cup with Farah Tame; she is only nine but has already jumped five-star Grands Prix. She jumped just the small class in the first day and she was very, very good. I hope she will be good today too.”

Home favourite Jone Illi was left fourth with a narrow margin but delivered yet another super performance together with Celtas Quillian.

“I’m feeling great. Both horses jumped amazing the whole weekend and my riding was also good so I can’t complain. Today I could’ve been one second faster – the margin was so small that the top three was within my reach. But still, I’m quite happy with our round.”
