Helsinki Horse Show takes a significant leap towards the 2030´s!
- The five-star Helsinki event moves permanently to larger premises at the Helsinki Fair Centre
- From 2026 onwards, the Horse Show will be the final event in the Western European World Cup League
- Valtteri Gundersby, a 31-year-old lawyer and equestrian, will take over leadership responsibilities as the new CEO of the organizing company, BCM Scanhorse Ltd. Long-time Event Director, Tom Gordin will continue over a three-year transition period.
The international top-tier equestrian event and Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ competition, Helsinki Horse Show, will undergo significant changes after next autumn. Established in 1985 in the Helsinki Fair Centre, this high-level sports and equestrian entertainment event will return to its roots, but as a new and more impressive version.
In the spring of 2026, the international top riders as well as numerous domestic riders will compete in the spacy and excellent Fair Centre. The new date on week nine, right after Gothenburg Horse Show, will make Helsinki the final leg of the Western European League.
“It’s important that the Horse Show stays in Helsinki, which is a significant partner for the event. The Helsinki Ice Hall has served as an excellent home for the Horse Show for ten years. The atmosphere in the Ice Hall has been especially praised as top-notch,” says Tom Gordin, long-time Event Director ever since the beginning in 1985.
At the Fair Centre, the entire event infrastructure will be indoors. The competition arena will be significantly larger than before. The spectator seating will be revamped and offer visitors new and diverse options.
“The Fair Centre offers magnificent facilities that are approximately four times larger compared to the current premises. While the Ice Hall offers an incredible atmosphere, we now have the opportunity to develop the event in many new directions – only our imagination is the limit,” says Tom Gordin.
The Helsinki Event and Horse Expo Grow and Diversify
The Horse Expo will become a significant equestrian shopping and event venue in the Fair Centre exhibition halls. The versatile facilities provide the opportunity to develop additional side events for both spectators and partners.
Visitors at the Horse Show spend an average of over 11 hours at the event, leaving plenty of time for dining, meeting friends, shopping, and other enjoyable activities. The Fair Centre offers a wide range of restaurants, and the new Hospitality service package will provide visitors with unique experiences. Arriving at the Fair Centre is easy, whether by public transport or private car. The Fair Center has functional parking facilities and spaces for around one hundred horse trucks and trailers.
Valtteri Gundersby new CEO
The event’s new leader, Valtteri Gundersby, a 31-year-old lawyer and equestrian entrepreneur, has been named the CEO of the organizing company, BCM Scanhorse Oy. Tom Gordin will continue as the Event Director through a three-year transition period. Gundersby takes also over the chair of Kristian Nyman, long-time President of the Organizing Committee.

Helsinki Horse Show’s Organizing Company, BCM Scanhorse Ltd Strengthened
BCM Scanhorse Ltd, the organizing company of the Horse Show, is strengthened with the new owner, EG Group Oy. Behind the company are experienced equestrian sports professionals, Gundersby and Georg Ehrnrooth. The professional team of the Horse Show will continue to include Marketing Director Taavi Tonttila and Event Manager Anna-Maija Bernard.
