Saturday evening’s last show jumping class was a tight fight against the clock and offered a lot of excitement until the very end. For a while it looked like the victory was heading to Switzerland as Bryan Balsiger on Clouzot de Lassus and Steve Guerdat on Hubba Bubba shared the first place having both cleared the course in the exact same time. But then came Donald Whitaker from Great Britain and delivered a stunning, fast round, riding Little Khira H to victory. He narrowly beat the Swiss duo, but it was still yet another spot at the top three for Balsiger who won earlier today and also topped yesterday’s Länsiväylä International 140 cm.

“I’m happy for Khira, she deserved to win yesterday but didn’t so today was great. I hope we can do the same thing tomorrow”, Whitaker commented their performance.

Steve Guerdat enjoys riding in Helsinki and was happy with today as well.

“It’s great to be back in Helsinki, I’m always happy to come and ride here. It would have been nicer had we won together with Bryan, much nicer, but I’m still happy with our performance today”, Guerdat told in an interview.

The top five almost fit within one second and the best placed Finn, Noora Pentti aboard Con Caya, was very happy with their 5th place.

“Caya jumped really well today but I was a little cautious myself, especially in the first part of the course. I could have ridden a bit more boldly, especially since Caya was with me so fantastically. We have jumped two big classes here together this weekend and placed in both so I’m very happy”, Pentti said after the competition.
