To honor Wegelius\u2019s memory and his long career in equestrian sports, we present the annual \u201cChristopher Wegelius Memorial Trophy\u201d at the Helsinki Horse Show. The trophy was donated by Wegelius\u2019s family.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The challenge trophy will be awarded for the first time at the upcoming Helsinki Horse Show on Saturday evening, February 28, in conjunction with the Helsinki Grand Prix class. The Grand Prix will be contested at the 155 cm level, with 110,000 euros in prize money and Longines Ranking points up for grabs. Wegelius himself was named the best Finnish rider at the Helsinki Horse Show in 1987 and 1988, riding his horse Ginger.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award is presented by Wegelius\u2019s immediate family to the Finnish rider who finishes in the highest position in the Grand Prix.
