The Gulliksen family from Norway is familiar to many who have attended the Helsinki Horse Show. The family includes father Geir, also known as Jimmy, who turned 66 in January. He has been competing in Helsinki since before the current Helsinki Horse Show began, when the competition was held in Ruskeasuo. In other words, Jimmy has been part of the event for over 40 years! <\/p>\n\n

And he continues to compete at the highest level, even though his children, Victoria and Johan-Sebastian, have already risen to at least his level. Jimmy has competed in 16 major competitions, including two Olympic Games, and five World Cup finals. At age 60, he won his first World Cup title in Gothenburg. <\/p>\n\n

Jimmy believes that everyone is as old as they think they are. Even though he\u2019s starting to feel a few more aches and pains, he doesn\u2019t really think about his age. The family\u2019s stable, Stall Gullik, is located in Lierskogen, Norway, and his mother, Elisabeth, is also an important member of the team, responsible for caring for the horses during competitions. <\/p>\n\n

Johan-Sebastian, 29, is the younger of the two brothers, and he, too, has been competing in Helsinki for a long time. He\u2019s been in excellent form this season, with two third-place finishes, a fourth, and a seventh in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup so far. In addition, Johan-Sebastian just took third place in the 5* Longines Grand Prix in Hong Kong. He has already secured his spot in the finals in Fort Worth, Texas, this April. <\/p>\n\n

Johan-Sebastian has been competing at the European Championship level since 2010. He has competed three times in the senior division, finishing 19th in Milan in 2023 and 20th in La Coru\u00f1a in 2025. <\/p>\n\n

The older of the two children, 33-year-old Victoria, is also an experienced show-jumping rider. She runs a stable in Belgium with the newest member of the family, her partner Jordy van Massenhoven. Victoria won\u2019t be competing in Helsinki this time, but in addition to Geir and Johan-Sebastian, Jordy will be joining the team. He is currently ranked 22nd in the league and is looking to earn more points to qualify for the finals. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
