The victory was the 45-year-old\u2019s first; last year he finished fourth. I didn\u2019t get to compete in the top-level events, but we had recordings of the World Cup Finals on videotape\u2014I got one every year,\u201d Kent says. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI watched them so many times that the tapes wore out, so being here now to win is really meaningful to me. I\u2019m extremely proud to have my name engraved on this trophy.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think it\u2019s important [to note] that I rode two horses here, both of which brought me victory. I couldn\u2019t have done this without Toulayna on the first day\u2014she won, too.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI have two exceptional mares, and thanks to them, I\u2019m here now winning this championship.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kent, who runs a training stable in Wellington, Florida, won two gold medals at the 2011 Pan American Games and a team silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Dinan and Out of the Blue SCF, and Rene Dittmer and Cody 139, with one time penalty, moved ahead of Kevin Staut and Steve Guerdat, who had been eliminated. Richard Vogel Ganster on Montdesir, who also recorded a clear round and finished ninth, was named Sunday\u2019s class winner. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniel won the final in 2014 and also made it to the podium in 2007 and 2016.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy expectations were high\u2014that\u2019s why I came here,\u201d said Deusser.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI got off to a great start on the first day, but on the second day I fell a little behind the leaders because of a fall. Today, I have to say that Otello de Guldenboom gave it his all. Christian Simonson of the United States and Indian Rock placed second (83.810%), and Poland\u2019s Sandra Sysojeva and Maxima Bella placed third (80.770%).
