The 2027 program for the Helsinki International Horse Show features some amazing surprises and refinements based on visitor feedback. One of the most notable is the return of Finnish legend Kyra Kyrklund to the Helsinki Horse Show alongside Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, the world\u2019s No. 1 dressage rider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Final of the Show Jumping World Cup in Helsinki offers not only the season\u2019s final series points but also more ranking classes than ever before and at least 520,000 euros in prize money. There are also more classes for Finnish riders to compete in than ever before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is truly wonderful that Finnish equestrian legend Kyra Kyrklund is returning to the Helsinki Horse Show after 25 years, bringing with her her trainee and the No. 1-ranked dressage rider, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour. Under Kyrklund\u2019s guidance, the Danish rider Laudrup-Dufour has already won nearly 20 medals in major competitions, including the Olympics, World Championships, and European Championships! On Thursday evening, Kyrklund will hold a training clinic together with Laudrup-Dufour, who will be seen riding. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWord gets around fast\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The highlight of the Helsinki Horse Show\u2014a leg of the World Cup in show jumping\u2014traditionally attracts a host of the world\u2019s top riders to the series\u2019 northernmost stop. The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final will be held two weeks after Helsinki, once again in Europe, in Gothenburg, and Helsinki will witness a fierce battle for the final points and a spot in the coveted finals during Sunday\u2019s World Cup event. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve received a lot of positive feedback from riders who participated in last spring\u2019s event, and I\u2019m confident that word about our event will spread far and wide. I believe we\u2019ll once again welcome many interesting world-class riders and talented horse-and-rider pairs to Helsinki,\u201d says Event Director Valtteri Gundersby. <\/p>\n\n

The first event at Messukeskus received one of the highest overall scores of the season\u20149 out of 10\u2014from the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).<\/p>\n\n

The Helsinki leg also offers six Finnish rider-horse pairs a spot in the five-star competition and the World Cup, as well as a spot in each of the series\u2019 other twelve legs.<\/p>\n\n

Feedback from the audience has helped us improve<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The 40-year-old Helsinki Horse Show, built around international competitive riding, recreational riding, and the multifaceted Horse Expo trade show, moved to the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center last spring and underwent a number of changes at the same time. Horse Show vol. 2.0 received an extremely warm reception from both the public and the riders. <\/p>\n\n

However, there is always room for improvement, and Gundersby says that, based on the feedback received, they have been able to make improvements in many areas for next spring.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe Kultajousi Arena, where most of the domestic competitions are held, has been expanded by a couple of meters in both length and width. Spectator stands with a capacity of up to 2,000 people are also being built around the arena.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

At the same time, Finnish riders will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of international five-star events on an ever-wider scale, as a new Challenge Tour series for the 110 cm and 120 cm levels is set to launch alongside the Amateur Tour. The finals for both series will be held on the international stage on Saturday evening. New, challenging dressage classes will be added on Friday and Sunday. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to competitive sports, the event offers the chance to watch a variety of equestrian disciplines\u2014such as carriage driving, vaulting, dressage, and working equitation\u2014as well as fast-paced dog races. The duration of the popular pony rides has been extended, and the hobby horse arena offers even more activities for children and teens than before. The newly named, more affordable event tickets\u2014designed for horse enthusiasts and families\u2014grant access to everywhere except the international arena. <\/p>\n\n

For those interested in international sports, there are both general admission seats and renovated VIP seats. One long side of the international arena is reserved for VIP seats, which are located on five different levels. When purchasing VIP tickets, you can now preview the view of the field from each seat using a new 3D service. <\/p>\n\n

Ticket sales for the Horse Show on March 4\u20137, 2027, will begin on Monday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m. <\/p>\n\n
