Denis Lynch makes it a double in Helsinki

International CSI 5* 145 cm presented by Turkish Airlines offered a tight fight against the clock with riders after another clearing the course. Yesterday’s 145 class winner Denis Lynch and Katja proved unbeatable again, holding onto their early lead until the end. Italian Giampiero Garofalo on Kadessa Z, who topped the 150 class on Friday evening, won the battle for the second, and narrowly beat the third-placed Julien Anquetin with Korner Chavannais.

The Irishman, who already has podiums from the FEI World Cup™ qualifier in Amsterdam as well as the Grand Prix in Basel under his belt, has continued his great season in Helsinki and clearly enjoys riding here.

“As always, she’s very competitive and she likes to go good pace. It really suits her to go that pace and she enjoys it, so it went to plan. There are things I’m not in control of so the only things I can control, ride well, make sure I ride it the way she needs to be ridden, and then after that what will be will be”, Lynch described their performance.

“I love riding, just being in Helsinki. They have done a fantastic show here and I’m really happy to be here. And this evening again, I’m really looking forward to it, also tomorrow. I hope I can ride well and do the best for my horses. This evening I’m riding Chicago, the younger horse. He has been placed in a couple of Grands Prix, so he looks like a very promising horse”, Lynch said ahead of Saturday evening’s Helsinki Grand Prix.
